Modified fatty alcohol ethoxylate with 40 EO is suitable as nonionic surfactants to enhance stabilization properties of an emulsion. Either an emulsion received via emulsion poylmerisation proceeding or a classical oil in water (o/w) emulsions. Due to the ethoxylation degree of 40 EO the steric hinderence effect to stabilize droplets within emulsion is comparable with alkylphenolethoxylates based e.g. nonylphenol 40 EO, whereas Disponil NRG 401 is APEO-free nonionic surfactant. In addition it is classified as readily biodegradable. Further applications are solid / liquid systems i.e. suspension where the Disponil NRG 401 act as a dispersant (coatings formulation e.g. paints) to keep the system stable. By using fatty alcohol ethoxylates it is known that gelling can occure when it is diluted in water. Disponil NRG 401 does not form a gelling phase, which allows a fast dilution of the nonionic surfactant into an industrial formulation (emulsion, suspension)
